Side-scrolling action games are not in short supply on the Genesis, but the best entries on the console are those that set themselves apart by either competency, flavour, or both. Many of the platformers or action games that stand out to people like Dynamite Headdy, Rocket Knight Adventures, or Ranger X have elements unique to them. El Viento is perhaps less known than those titles but it too has cultivated a fanbase and fond memories for SEGA enthusiasts.
And El Viento certainly has flavour, a lot of it. But is that flavour agreeable to our palate? Is it a solid enough game to stand above its peers? Kris and I delve into anachronistic America to see where we stand.
