It’s difficult to avoid the influence of certain stories. Although Kris and I have severely limited experience with media and tales related directly to Arthurian legend, the elements and themes of these stories cascade through the centuries. Their attributes can still be sniffed out today.
It might come as a surprise that neither of us have seen John Boorman’s 1981 Arthurian adaptation Excalibur. Of the multitude of fantasy and medieval themed movies of the era, this one has managed to slip by. So we’re diving into this dark look at the legend this episode to see what we’ve been missing.
