The AGROCAST for November 2021 focuses on Castlevania for the N64.
Castlevania for Nintendo 64 (colloquially Castlevania 64 ) is the series’ first foray into 3D gaming during that period where many established series were attempting to make that jump. Success in this transition varied of course between series and personal reception though the established narrative for Castlevania 64 seems to be negative.
However, time passes and while Castlevania 64 isn’t always remembered fondly it does have its share of supporters and really – it’s been years since release and we like to see if opinions change or if titles hold up. While my history with this game is spotty, is it deserved?
I’m joined by Kris to take a look at Castlevania 64, and explore it beyond its reputation. I should note that while we are aware of Legacy of Darkness, we are playing the original iteration of these scenarios for that original context.
